Valve made an exciting announcement on the official CS2 Twitter account: the next Major will be held in Austin, Texas, USA. However, this isn’t the main news that will excite not only casual players but also the majority of professional esports players. Vertigo will finally be removed from the map pool and replaced by the newly revamped Train, which was reintroduced late last year.
It’s worth noting that throughout all the Majors, including those in CS:GO, Vertigo consistently ranked among the least played maps. Despite this, it remained in the active map pool for an unusually long time, as Valve seemed inexplicably attached to it. However, the day has finally come—Vertigo has been laid to rest, making way for the revamped Train.
The exact start date of the Major is still unknown, but we are keeping a close eye on the developments.
