If an annoying teammate starts getting on your nerves during a match, or you’re chatting with friends on Discord and need to mute someone in-game to avoid audio chaos, it’s super easy to do!
Press TAB, then right-click on the player you need to mute. In the pop-up menu, find the volume icon and click on it. That’s it—now they’re fully muted in both voice and text chat!
Additionally, you also have the option to slightly lower the volume of a specific player in CS2 if you still need to hear some important info from them, but their mic is too loud or has an annoyingly bad sound.
To do this, use the same speaker icon as shown above, but this time, hold the right mouse button and drag your mouse down.
To unmute a player, simply click the volume icon again. To increase the volume, click on the icon, hold it, and drag your mouse up.
