Budget build for CS2 5600X and GeForce RTX 4060

If you, like me, are not planning to change the socket and are sticking with AM4, this build is great for an upgrade or with used components, especially if you’re buying a new graphics card. For the introduction, it’s important to mention that I had an old motherboard with a B350 chipset, so I specifically chose the 5600X because its 5600X3D version is very hard to find (if you do find it, definitely buy it). The 5600X will cost you about $140-150.

Choosing the graphics card also took me a while, but after reviewing benchmarks and realizing that newer models like the 4060 would not suffer from driver issues for a bit longer, I ultimately decided on it. Moreover, the cheapest model, the Palit GeForce RTX 4060 Dual 8192MB, cost me just $330 at the time of purchase, which is roughly the same price as the 3060.

It’s also worth mentioning that I don’t play in full HD but use a stretched 4:3 resolution (1280×1024) like many other players, so my FPS only occasionally drops below 300, which is very comfortable with the right settings.

So, getting back to the main topic, this setup (graphics card and processor) will cost you $500, but don’t forget about a good cooler, as it wouldn’t hurt to slightly overclock the processor through BIOS. Personally, I use the Be Quiet! Pure Rock 2 FX cooler, but it’s not exactly budget-friendly, and there are cheaper options available.
